Eagle Public Library
Eagle is over 100 years old, and the residents were determined that their library would integrate into and enhance their community. Snowdon & Hopkins began the design process with several public meetings to gather information and discuss the residents' ideas. The consensus was that library should be a two-story brick-veneer building, matching the historical architecture of the town.

"Pam has a unique ability to read a community and produce a building that perfectly reflects its character. Not only did she complete her work within budget and on schedule, she brought her considerable and impressive talents to the design process. As a result, I could not be more pleased…” Pamela Holmes Boyd, Eagle Valley Library District Trustee
The upper level is a magnificent vaulted space with arched, heavy-timber and steel tie-rod trusses spanning 44' . The large windows frame views of downtown Eagle to the north and the mountains to the south. Each floor has a fireplace as a focal point for the several reading lounges. The circulation and reference counters are wood paneled with granite tops. Arts and crafts style detailing and dark stain are used on wainscots, stairs and railings, bookstacks and panels, and in the Stickley furniture. The building achieved the 100 year old look and the comfortable, polished feel that the residents wanted.
